Bound in contemporary 3/4 maroon leather over marbled boards with gilt rules and lettering to spine over black spine label. Twenty-seven copper engraved plates along with minor illustrations throughout. Light rubbing to boards, slight offsetting to endpapers, lightest occasional foxing (chiefly confined to endpapers), contents remain overwhelmingly clean and unmarked with tight, sound binding. Overall, very good+. Tim Bobbin (pseudonym for John Collier [1708-1786]) was an early English satirist and caricaturist. .

This copy has been professionally rebacked, with the original spine laid down. With twenty-seven illustrative plates and frontispiece of the author. With a Life of the Author. This is the life of John Collier, not a fictionalised account of Tim Bobbin. John Collier, 1708-1786, was a satirist and caricaturist. His motto was apparently 'Laugh, and be fat', which he lived up to heartily. The binding is tight and firm. There is slight edge wear to the extremities. Internally the pages have some browning with foxing only prominent to the first and last pages and the plates as usual. There are a few faded tidemarks to some plates. Very Good . Ill.: None.
